Summer in December

So I came across this photo of my grandson from back in 2009 when we were camping with friends and I loved the expression on his face and of course I had to scrap it, lol. I was also thinking I can't wait for summer, I hate being cold, so I thought this might make me feel warmer.

I used the Heartfelt Creations "Under the Sea" paper collection. I did some fussy cutting of some fish and a seahorse from the papers and popped them up with foam pop dots. All of the shells in the left bottom corner are all real (I live just a few blocks from the beach). The only thing that's not real is the small starfish. I was quite happy at how the layout turned out. Here's the finished layout.
I have also made a quick card, just trying to use up some scraps in my stash.
Thanks for looking and remember I love to read your comments on my projects!

Graduation Day

I'm finally getting around to doing this layout of my granddaughter's graduation ceremony this past June. I know I'm a little slow, lol. For this layout I used a sketch from "Citrus Twist Kits". Here  is the sketch:
For this layout I used the Kaisercraft "Rose Avenue" paper collection again. I remembered to save the ticket from the grad ceremony so I was able to add that to the layout. I also printed out the grad cap & diploma from my "Graduation" digital scrapbook kit that I designed and drew in my Paint Shop Pro graphics program. I sell my kits on my website Scrappers Heaven which you can find here Scrappers Heaven Digital Kits I popped the cap and diploma up with pop dots for a 3D look. Here's the finished layout using a photo of my granddaughter & I.

We Did It!

I love this photo of my son & dil taken after their "I Do's" at the wedding. I reminded me of when some one wins a race or something, hence the title I came up with, lol. I just had to scrap it. This is my take on sketch #112 by Susan Stringfellow. Here's the sketch:
I used Kaisercraft's "Sage & Grace" paper collection for this layout. I turned the sketch 90 degrees to the right. I was quite happy at how the layout turned out, I'd love to hear your comments! TFL!

Lifting My Own

I wanted to scrap this Photo that the photographer took of the card/gift box that I made for my son's wedding. I had never made one of these before and I was quite happy with the way it turned out. I lifted my own layouts that I had done earlier for a couple of the wedding photos, "Kiss" and "Love". I used the Kaisercraft "Rose Avenue" paper collection for the layout. I used different papers from the collection and distressed them all and layered them as shown. For my flowers I used some red & white roses to imitate the roses on the gift box. Here is the finished layout.

Bridesmaids

This is a layout of the Bridesmaids from the wedding except of course my great nephew, lol. I did this page using the same sketch which of course I didn't realize that I should have mirrored the background papers from the layout of my daughter-in-law walking down the aisle with her Dad, since these pages are going to be beside each other in the album. Oh well, not about to tear it all apart now, lol. Here's the finished layout.
Thanks for stopping by and I'd love to hear your comments!

Daddy's Girl

Here we are with another layout from the Wedding photos. This is a photo of my daughter-in-law walking down the aisle with her Dad. I was looking for a different title for the page other than the usual "Walking Down the Aisle" thing and I came across this one "I'll Always Be Daddy's Girl". It reminded be of my Dad, he always called me his baby girl. He introduced me to everyone as his baby girl, right up to the day he died. That's why I thought this title would be perfect, even after we marry, our Dads will be one of the most important and loved men in our lives.

For this layout I used a sketch by Kelly Holifield which I turned on it's side. Here is the sketch:
For the layout I used the Kaisercraft "High Tea" paper collection. The pink flowers were from my stash and were just a plain white color. I sprayed them with some Lindy's Stamp Gang "Cotton Candy" pink. I also added the small deep red and white rosebuds from my stash. The title I cut out on my Cricut machine.  Here's the finished layout.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

Swirlydoos Sketch Challenge

I've been in a bit of a scrap layout funk lately so I decided to enter the Swirlydoos sketch challenge this month. Here is the sketch from Swirlydoos.
My take on the sketch was pretty simple. I used this photo taken of me when my girlfriend and I had gone on a little mini vacation down island to Victoria, BC back in September 2014. I've had the photo sitting in my "to scrap" basket for ages. I found some fencing in my stash and then used my honeycomb die to cut out my chippies which I painted to match my flowers. I added a doily behind the photo as well as part of a doily on the top left of the layout under the flowers. I also added some flower sticker die cuts just above and behind the fencing. To finish the layout off I added some small pearl flourishes and added some stamping around the layout. Here's the finished layout, thanks for stopping by.

Grad Formal

My granddaughter graduated this past June so of course I had to scrap this photo of her in her formal dress for the Grad Dance...what happened to that sweet little girl, she's all grown up now! I feel so old, lol.

I cut different sized rectangles and banners from the Kaisercraft "High Tea" paper collection. I used the "High Tea Afternoon Tea" paper for my background paper. I distressed and inked all of the papers. I made the pink flowers using my Heartfelt dies. I added a couple of tears in the paper with some flowers popping out. To finish off the layout I did some white paint drips & splats all over the layout, although they're kind of hard to see in the photo. For my chippie I covered it with white paint then sprayed it with some pink glimmer mist. Here's the finished layout, thanks for stopping by!

Wedding Dress

Well I'm back to doing another wedding layout, this time to show off the wedding dress, which was just beautiful! For this layout I used Kaisercraft's "High Tea" collection. I used the "High Tea Tea Time" paper for my background paper. I cut 4 different sized papers from the collection to layer under the photos as shown. I took a duplicate piece of the "High Tea Tea Time" paper and fussy cut out the doily and roses from the bottom left corner of the paper and used some foam dots to pop it up over the same corner of the background paper. The top right side of this background paper has a piece of another doily  on the paper so I cut a piece of another doily and placed it over the doily on the paper and added a pink flower folded in half and  added two small roses on top of that. I added a few more roses and flowers to the layout along with my title and called it done. Here's the finished layout, I'd love to hear your comments and thanks for stopping by!

Mini Album #3

I've been busy making another Mini Album. I had this beautiful Prima paper pad collection called "Zella Teal" that I just love. I was poking around the internet and came across this tutorial on You Tube by Rosa Kelly for Country Craft Creations and she had used the "Zella Teal" papers for the album. I loved the album with these papers so of course I had to lift it! Here is my lift of the album, below the photos I've added a video tour of the album and as usual I would love to hear your comments on my project!

Please click on the photo to see a larger view.

Here is the video tour of the album.

Speeches

This layout that I've done from more of the wedding photos is about the speeches that were given. I had to do this one of my granddaughter giving her speech, which I have added to the layout. Mikayla's words to her Dad and Angela were just so heartfelt. By the time she finished there was not a dry eye in the room, especially from my son. It brings a tear to my eye just reading it now.

I have also done a little flip up of the other speeches. The first one that you can see is of my nephew, leaving his speech writting to the very last minute, lol. The next one after that is one of my grandson giving his speech to the happy couple and then one of my son giving his speech. Here's the layout, TFL!

October Round Robin

A quick post to show off my layout. I joined in on the RR over at Swirlydoos this month. Here is the layout, by Kim Heard that I had to lift.
Now here is my layout. Photo is of my son, daughter-in-law and grandson when they were out golfing one day. TFL

Halloween Wall Hanging

I've had this little box in my stash for a couple of years. This came with some small wooden pieces, I believe from Prima, in it. I finally decided to use it this week to make a little Halloween wall hanging. I dragged out my basket with all my Halloween goodies and pulled out a bunch of pieces that I thought would work together.

Thr first thing I did was to pull of one of the wooden strips so I had a bigger section for my skeleton. I then painted the thing with some black paint. I took a sheet of paper from a Halloween paper pack from Tim Holtz and cut some strips to go into each section. I started with the bottom section first. I added a little paper pumpkin to the bottom corner and then a spider. After that I glued my skeleton in I tucked some cheese cloth that I had pulled apart around and under the skeleton.

For the middle section I took a couple of small corked bottles I had and filled them with some glitter glass and tiny beads to them. I fussy cut labels from the papers and added them to the bottles and glued them into place. I then added the small skeleton head, key and number piece to this section.

For my top section I added an oval tag with a black fence and raven on it  to the top left corner. I found this metal bottle in my stash and added it to this section. I added two small skeleton heads and a spider to this section.

To finish off the project I added a small felt skull and cross bones to the side of the box and took out some letters from my stash to spell "BOO" and glued them to the top of the box. I then took some wire and twisted it up and added the small paper bat to the top of it and glued the other end to the box to make it look like it was flying. Here's the finished project, click on the photo to see a larger view.
 A few close ups.
I'd love to hear your comments, TFL!

Thoughts & Prayers

Nothing to do with scrapping today. I just have to pass on my thoughts & prayers to all of the victims and families of the horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas. How does something like this happen? How does someone get to the point in their life that they would do something like this, especially to innocent people?

I do not like guns and although I do not live in the US I have always thought that their gun laws were not tough enough. You don't hear about mass shootings like this in Canada. It seems that anyone can get a gun these days in the US. I believe it was Michael Moore who wrote about how in one town in the US a bank was offering a free gun for opening up an account at their bank. Seriously?

The 64 yr old man responsible for this shooting apparently brought 10 suitcases with 23 guns. These weren't just hand guns, these were powerful automatic weapons that are designed to continuously fire ammunition with just one pull of the trigger. The victims of this shooting were like pigs waiting for slaughter as they were all fenced in for this open air concert when the man opened fire from his room at the Mandalay Bay hotel which was located diagonally across the street!

Yes so I know that in the US everyone has the right to bear arms for their personal protection. Having a hand gun for your protection is one thing but no one needs a AK47 for personal protection! The gun laws in the US need to change and it needs to be done now!

Please check out Jimmy Kimmel's remarks on this horrific shooting.

Chillin'

I had to scrap these two photo's of my son & the groomsmen having a beer in between the photo's being taken before the wedding ceremony. I used the Kaisercraft "Lilac Whisper" papers again. For my background paper is used the "Jade" paper from the collection. I distressed and inked all of the papers for this layout. I cut different size rectangles and banners from the other papers in the collection and laid them out as shown in the photo. The butterfly, clock and hydrangea flower are from the ephemera pack in this paper collection. I added some flowers from my stash and called it done. I'd love to hear your comments! TFL!

Beautiful Moments

I just love these Kaisercraft "Rose Avenue" papers, as I use them on another wedding layout. For this layout I used the "Rose Window" paper for my background paper. I then tore two corner pieces of the "Terrace" paper which I added some lace to. I cut out the tag "Beautiful Moments" from the "Homestead" paper along with some different size pieces from the Terrace, Courtyard and Patio papers and layered them behind the photo which I popped up with some cardboard to give the layout some depth. I had this wooden flourish in my stash which I painted with some acrylic paint to match the blues in the paper, after it dried I covered it with some Liquitex Iridescent Medium to give it some sparkle.I distressed and inked all of my papers. The pink roses I made using my Cricut machine then added some small blue rose buds from my stash amongst the pink flowers and also in my peek-a-boo torn piece on the right side of the background paper. To finish it off I added some black paint drips to it. Here's the finished layout, I'd love to hear your comments! TFL

My Always

Is anyone getting sick of seeing all these wedding photos yet? LOL Hopefully I'll be finished soon.

This is another layout for the wedding album using Kaisercrafts "Rose Avenue" paper collection. For my background paper I used the "Suite" paper. I took a duplicate paper and fussy cut the left bottom flowers out and then popped it up with foam pop dots over the same flowers on the background paper. I distressed and inked all of the papers. I cut three different sized rectangles from the different papers. I also made two tags from the paper and two paper banners. I layered the papers as shown in the photo, while layering I added some threads under the photo as well as the banners. I fussy cut some of the roses from the "Patio" paper and popped them up with foam pop dots on the top left corner of the photo. I added a smal blue rose bud in a peek-a-boo tear on the top of the background paper then added a small key embellishment, with the word Love on the top part of the key, just below the tear. I took two of the blue rose buds and one small pink & white rose bud and added them to the bottom right corner of the photo. I also added some very tiny little green beads onto the green & white polka dot paper. I added a pretty blue butterfly that I printed out and covered in glossy accents to the layout and called it done. Here's the finished result, I'd love to hear your comments! TFL!

Bridal Party

Finally a photo of the whole wedding party! This layout is a lift of a layout I found on Scrapbook.com by Jk73, all of her layouts are just beautiful! I used the Kaisercraft "Rose Avenue" paper collection for this layout. The green colors in the paper went perfect with the greens in the photo. Here's the layout and I've posted the layout I lifted underneath mine.
The layout by Jk73:

Memories

Another family photo, this one of my son, daughter-in-law, my son's Dad and his wife. For this layout I used the Kaisercraft "Sage & Grace" paper collection. I cut some differnt size rectangles from the papers and a couple of banner pieces. I distressed all the papers and layered them as shown in the photo. I added some pretty Prima flowers from my stash as well as a small Prima pearl and crystal flourish. I also added a small clay corner piece from my stash. A very simple layout but I think it looks good. TFL!

Family Layout

Another family photo, this one of my daughter-in-law, her Dad, sister and my son. For this layout I used the Prima "Rose Quartz" paper collection. For my background paper I used the B side of the tag paper which has a look of wood strips. I then took the white paper with the smaller pink roses and the dark brown with the smaller roses on it and tore the paper across and down to make a kind of triangle across the background paper at the top and bottom as you can see in the photo. I took three of the other papers and cut out some different sizes to layer under the photo. I did some fussy cutting of the roses out of the white paper with the larger roses which I popped up with some pop dots on the top right corner of the photo. I also fussy cut some of the feathers out of the feather paper which I cut thin slices through to give it more of a feathered look and popped them up on the bottom right corner of the photo. I added some Prima pink & black flowers from stash to the bottom left cornerof the photo. I really like how the black flowers look against the dark paper and pink flowers. I added a sentiment strip from my stash and called it done. I quite like the way it turned out. TFL!

Special Day

Well I'm finally getting to scrap some of the family wedding photos. This one is of my husband and myself with my son and daughter-in-law. I look terrible in the photo but everyone else looks great. I hate having my photo taken, lol.

I used the Kaisercraft "Rose Avenue" paper collection. I think I'm addicted to Kaisercraft papers! I only used 4 of the different papers for the layers cutting  three larger rectangles and a narrow strip for the banner piece at the back. I used a couple of the saying strips from the collection as well as some Prima flowers from my stash. I distressed and inked all of my papers, added a small wooden clock and a bangle I made with a Prima bobble and some chain. A fairly simple layout but I like how it turned out. TFL!

Looking to the Future

This photo that was taken of my son and daughter-in-law looks to me like they are both looking out to what the future holds for them. I used Kaisercrafts "Lilac Whisper" paper collection for the layout. I cut 4 strips of the various papers from the collection that were widths from 1½" to 2¼". Going from the right of the layout to the left my first strip I taped right to the background paper. I had some thin chipboard which i used to pop up the next strip of paper. Before laying the next two paper strips down I added two small doilies one to the side of the top of the paper strips and one to the bottom. I taped the next two strips of paper together and doubled up the thin chipboard to pop up those two pieces. I cut two tags from a couple of the other papers and laid them sideways down the left side of the layout, sliding them under the last two paper strips.

Now to start adding my embellishments. I used one of my dies to cut out the branch & leaves which I tucked here and there on the paper strips. I added a heart flourish chippie which I had covered with gesso then sprayed with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray to give it a mauve color. I cut out and added one of the tag labels from the paper which I added over the tags. I also cut out some of the flowers from the "Opal" paper and poped them up with some carboard and added to the top right corner of the photo. I added flowers from my stash and a pretty Prima butterfly. To finish of the layout I added some black paint drips and splotches. Here's the finished layout. TFL!

1st Dance

It's been way to hot to be outside doing things, unless your at the beach, so I managed to finish off my latest layout of the wedding photos. I used the Kaisercraft Rose Avenue paper collection for this project. Just a few layers on this one, along with cutting out a couple of the tags from the tag sheet which I popped up with cardboard as well as the photo, I also distressed all the papers. For my flowers I took some of the white ones from my stash and sprayed them with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays to much up with the colors in the paper. While the flowers were still damp I took my tweezers and gave each petal a bit of a twist and let them dry. As I said in my previous post this just gives the flowers a bit more "oomph" than just being flat on the page. Here's a photo of the flowers before they were sprayed and twisted. As you can see on the layout the flowers look way better!
I also dyed some seam binding to match the blue flowers and made a small bow to use on the layout amongst the one flower cluster. To finish off the layout I added some black paint splatters. TFL and I'd love to hear your comments!

September

Wow can you believe it's September already? All the kids are back to school on Tuesday and I'm pretty sure there are a lot of Mom's doing the happy dance right about now, lol. I remember those days. I drove past some store today and they had a sign in their window saying only 113 more days until Christmas! What a mean thing to say to all us poor consumers! Since I'm trying to get all these wedding photo's scrapped so I can give the album to the kids for Christmas I best be getting my butt in gear.

So today's layout is of the bride and her bridesmaids. I used Kaisercraft's "Rose Avenue" paper collection for the layout. I kept the layout pretty simple just cutting out some large banner pieces and adding a pretty doily behind them. I had a bag of different sized white flowers in my stash so I took 4 of them and sprayed them with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray in "Cotton Candy Pink". While the flowers were still damp I took my tweezers and gave each petal a little twist and let them dry. This gives the flowers a little more "oomph" on the page rather than just being flat. I also adding a few small lace flowers from my stash. To finish the layout off I added some black paint splatters to the page. Here's the finished page, I'd love to hear your comments on the layout! Have a great week everyone!

Layout & Card

Well it seems that I'm on a roll with all of these layouts of the wedding photo's, I guess my mojo finally decided to come home, lol. This layout is of my son and granddaughters. The girls just looked so beautiful in their dresses, hence the title of my layout "Our Beautiful Girls". I used the Kaisercraft "Lilac Whisper" paper collection again for this layout. I added lots of layers and distressed all the papers. Flowers from my stash, a couple of little butterflies and the "Beautiful" tag from the ephemera pack from the Lilac Whisper collection. I also popped up the photos with some cardboard. I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

I decided to enter the card challenge over at Swirlydoos, this challenge was to use stitching on our cards. I use to always add stitching to any cards I made but for some reason I stopped doing that. I've been wanting to use these Kaisercraft papers on a card so this was the perfect excuse. The cards a pretty simple one but I liked how it turned out. TFL!

Your Own Kind of Beautiful

I think this photo of my daughter-in-law and granddaughter is so beautiful so of course I had to scrap it with all of the other wedding photos. I used the Kaisercraft "Sage & Grace" paper collection for this layout. I cut different size papers from the collection to layer along with 2 banner strips. I distressed all the papers. I added some pretty Petaloo and Kaisercraft orange flowers as well as some small mint & white paper flowers. The title is from one of the cut offs from the bottom of the 12 x 12 papers from the collection. I also added some black drips and splats to the layout to finish it off. TFL and I'd love to hear your comments! Have a great weekend!

Another B&W

This is another B&W photo that the photographer from my son's wedding took. I love this one, it look's as if my son is looking to the future of his life and being married to his wife. I decided to do basically the same layout as I did the other day for the B&W photo of my son and daughter-in-law kissing. This one I switched the background paper to a basically white background and then the larger strip being the pink roses with a darker color. I used some strips of some of the other papers to layer with and cut some of the cards out of the paper collection.  I also fussy cut some roses and feathers from the papers. The photo I popped up with cardboard, added some flowers from my stash, a key and the "Love" chippie. To finish it all off I added drips and splats of black paint. I really liked how it turned out. I'd love to hear your comments, TFL!

Kiss

Still doing the wedding photos. I really liked this B&W photo of my son & his wife that the photographer took. I used the Prima "Rose Quartz" papers again and for my background paper I used the one with the black mottled look. I took a piece of the small rose papers and tore a diagonal strip to go acroos the backgroud paper. I cut three of the other papers into different length strips to go behind the photo. I distressed all the papers but I didn't ink these ones. I popped the photo up with some cardboard and added some flowers from my stash. I then fussy cut some roses from the papers and popped them up with cardboard and added them to the layout. I also fussy cut some feathers from the paper and added them to the layout. After I added my "kiss" title I took some white paint that I watered down and added some paint splats around the layout. Here's the finished layout, TFL!

Together

I'm amazing myself at getting all these wedding photos scrapped, I'm doing at least one a day which for me is great! These two photos are of my daughter-in-law with her daughter and son. So I now officially have four grandchildren!

For this layout I chose Prima's "Rose Quartz" paper collection, it's just so pretty. I did a few layers with rectangles and a couple of banner strips. I popped the photo's up with some cardboard and did some fussy cutting of the roses from the paper which you can see on the top left corner of the photo. I distressed all the papers but I didn't ink them this time, preferring to have a bit cleaner look. I took a couple of my white flowers and inked them with some pink Lindy's Stamp Gang starburst ink from my stash and added a darker rose which I appled some gesso to here and there on the flower. I added a metal key, a tag and a clock and called it done. TFL!

The Ceremony

Another wedding layout, this one of the ceremony. I used Kaisercraft's "Lilac Whisper" paper collection again, I'm in love with this collection, it's just so pretty!  I did a lot of layers and distressed and inked all of the papers. I added flowers from my stash, along with adding one where I've torn the paper on the top right side of the paper, rolled the paper back, added a small piece of background paper and popped a small rose in between the torn paper. I added a small silver rose with mauve bow. I printed out a couple of pretty mauve butterflies and cut them out, then covered them with Glossy Accents. Once they were dry I added some wire antenas that I made to them and added them to the layout. I was quite happy with how the layout turned out. TFL!

Wedding Take 3

It's time I do a layout of the guys in the wedding party. I love these photo's of the guys in their tux's, they all look so handsome. In the photo of the whole group from left to right is my son's best friend since elementary school, my nephew, my son and my grandson. In front we have the 2 Jackson's, my great nephew and my now new grandson.

For this layout I used Kaisercraft's "Lilac Whisper" paper collection. Even though these papers are all floral they really went well with the navy blues in the tuxedos. I did lots of layers and distressed and inked all the papers. A few flowers from my stash and called it done. I was quite happy at how the layout turned out. I'd love to hear your comments on the layout. TFL! Here's the finished layout.

Layout/Project of the Week

I was very honored that my Mini Album I posted the other day was picked as the Layout/Project of the week for August 13th over at Swirlydoos. I'm so happy, here's the mini album again.

Then as I was checking out all the posts over at the Swirlydoos Forums and came across the post for Layout/Project of the Week for July 23, 2017 and found that my tag I made for the RR project for July had won this honor. Thank  you so much Swirlydoos! Here's my tag:

Wedding Layout Part 2

Another wedding layout using the Kaisercrafts "Sage & Grace" paper collection. My son & daughter-in-law had all their photo's taken before the ceremony. I just love these photo's of my son and daughter-in-law when they got to see each other for the first time in all their wedding attire. The look on my son's face when he saw Angela in her dress just brings tears to my eye's seeing how in love he is.

I used the Shabby Chic paper from the collection as my background paper. I took the other duplicate paper and fussy cut the flowers from the bottom right of the paper and added some foam dots to them and placed them over top of the same flowers on the background paper. One of the things I like about this paper collection is the bottom strips of the paper have all of these sayings on them that are perfect to use on your layouts.  My layout is based on a sketch from "SketchObilities" #53. Here's the finished layout, I'd love to hear your comments, TFL!

Wedding Layout

Well I've finally got started doing some layouts of the photos from my son's wedding in June. This layout is of my my daughter-in-law checking out her hair while getting ready the morning of the wedding. I was so happy that the photographer took the photo of her hair as the hairdresser just did a beautiful job on it. I've used the Kaisercrafts "Sage & Grace" paper collection for this layout and Petaloo's "Botanica" flowers for the layout, the colors went perfect with the photos! Here's the finished layout.
Have a great day everyone!

Website Re-vamp

I finally got the re-vamp of my website done. Since I was down on the mainland for 3 weeks I wasn't able to do any scrapping I decided to work on my website. I managed to get the new website all uploaded to the internet this afternoon. You can check out my site here: www.scrappers-heaven.com

One of the things I am selling on my website are pre-made scrapbbok layouts. Here are 3 of the layouts I have up on my website.

I'm also selling my handmade stick pins and other embellishments. Here are a few samples:
I hope you'll stop by my website and have a look at everything. You may even want to purchase something. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
