COVID-19 - let humor get you through this Pandemic!

So you're stuck at home during this pandemic that's going on, you've binge watched every show on Netflix, searched everything possible on Pinterest. Now what do you do? Well if you're like me I head to my craft room. I've really got into making things with my new CricutMaker machine. I've come across so many funny sayings while surfing through Pinterest and decided why not give people something to laugh about and put some of these funny sayings on T-shirts, coffee mugs etc. Here are a couple of T-shirts to do with Covid-19 that I've made. The "Covid-19" T-shirt is a Mens/Unisex large short sleeve T-shirt and the "Social Distancing" shirt is a men's large tank top. I sell the T-shirts and tank tops for $25 each and you can order in a different size and/or color.

The Social Distancing T-shirt went over really well with some of the guys my husband works with, I think I sold about 10 or 12 of these ones to them, lol. The saying is on the back of the T-shirts so while you re standing in line ups at the store etc it gives a good laugh to the people behind you. And if they are not social distancing themselves they'll get the message, lol. If you are interested in purchasing any of these items you can find them in my Etsy shop here: Scrapping Passion .

Or on my Facebook page here: Scrappers Heaven

If you have any ideas you would like on a T-shirt just leave me a comment or email me at: sdinnell @ scrappers-heaven.com (please leave the space before and after the @ sign out when emailing (this is to stop robots from sending spam). I look forward to your comments!

Cork Board Coasters

At Christmas I had bought a friend of  mine some cute drink coasters with funny sayings on them. After making T-shirts etc with my new Cricut Maker I remembered the coasters and thought I could make some coasters like that. All I had to do was find out where I could buy cork board for these. I ended up finding thin 2' x 3' sheets of cork board at the local Home Hardware store in town which was used as underlay for flooring at a cost of only $4.99. I was able to cut these into 4" x 4" squares and used HTV or Heat Transfer Vinyl to make the sayings.

The four sayings I came up with for the coasters are:
"Dinner is Poured"
"Squats? I thought you said let's do shots!"
"I can't fix the Weather but I can fix a Drink"
"The first thing on my Bucket List is to fill the bucket with Wine!"
I'm sure I'll come up with more cute quotes to put on these coasters. I'm going to be selling these in my Etsy Shop "ScrappingPassion" here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/ScrappingPassion?ref=search_shop_redirect

I'd love to hear your comments!

My New Obsession

I was visiting my daughter back at the beginning of December and she introduced me to the "Cricut Maker" and the "Cricut Easy Press". Of course I knew all about Cricut being a scrapbooker but I hadn't heard about the Cricut Maker. They call the Cricut Maker – the ultimate smart cutting machine. It cuts vinyl, fabrics, leather, paper, and balsa wood.
The things my daughter had been making with vinyl were amazing. From T-shirts, canvas bags,  baby onsies to mugs, and signs. I could cut a lot of the vinyl with my Cricut Expression which I had done years ago to make some vinyl sayings for my walls in my craft room but really had not got into it that much. My Cricut Expression was getting a little old so I thought well maybe I should get the Cricut Maker. So my daughter then showed me that there were different types of vinyl. There was regular vinyl that you used to add onto mugs and signs etc, that type of vinyl was permanent adhesive vinyl and then regular vinyl that you could put on items that you don't want to be permanent such as putting on walls that you may want to take off at some point.

The other type of vinyl that you could use is "Heat Transfer Vinyl" or "HTV". This type of vinyl you would use for putting on T-shirts and canvas etc. To apply this vinyl you would need a source of heat such as an iron or better yet, the "Cricut Easy Press". https://cricut.com/en_us/cricut-easypress>
Cricut has a Heat Transfer Guide that gives you proven time and temperature settings for virtually any project. Just select your base material and your heat-transfer material, and the guide walks you through a perfect application.

So after seeing how these all worked I thought I have to buy myself these two machines. Well it was December so I was busy Christmas shopping for the family so I wouldn't be able to buy anything like this for myself for some time. That didn't stop me from searching on Amazon and Michael's for the best prices. I did find that Michael's had the best prices.

So I do all the Christmas shopping for us, so the only gift that my husband has to shop is for me. We all know how much men like to shop so I usually end up getting a gift card or cash. My husband had so much work the past year so we had been able to put big lump sum payments against our mortgage. My Christmas gift from my husband was almost $1,000.00, to say I was excited hardly came close to what I was feeling. On Boxing Day I went online and ordered my Cricut Maker and Cricut EasyPress! Of course since I ordered these I would have to order myself some of the vinyls to use with the machines, so back on Amazon I go and order myself some vinyl!

Well I've been busy making T-shirts, canvas bags, baby onsies, and mugs. I've been selling a lot of these items on my Etsy Shop "ScrappingPassion" along with different Facebook groups. Here are just some of the items I've been making and selling.

These are just a few of the things I've made with my new Cricut Maker and I'd love to hear your comments on them! stay safe everyone!

Lovin' the Blues

How's everyone doing during this Covid-19 pandemic. I hope everyone is staying home and staying safe during this crazy time. We've been lucky that our spring time has finally showed up with warm temperatures and not much rain so we've been able to get out into the yard getting it cleaned up, getting some of our vegetable garden and hanging baskets planted. Still waiting on getting more plants for our baskets and vegetable garden though.

In the meantime I've been doing some more scrapping. I absolutely love Ciao Bella's "Broccato Estense" paper collection with all of the beautiful blue colors. I thought this collection would be perfect for this cute photo of our youngest grandson Henry. I did so many other layouts for Henry's first year album but of course that album went to our daughter and family. So I figured I better make some layouts for ourselves. I did some layering with the different papers and some tags I cut out of the collection. I cut one of the metal flowers I had in my stash in half and attached them to the matted photo which I had popped up with some cardboard. I then made some light blue and navy blue flowers using a set of dies that I had. the small light blue and navy blue rosebuds were from my stash. I also cut out a hexagon die chipboard that I cut apart and added those to the layers. I had these small glass flowers in my stash for ages and I used those to dot around the layout. To finish the layout off I added the small chipboard frame onto the photo. I was quite happy with how the layout turned out. Here's the finished layout, I'd love to hear your comments!

New Year New Post...finally!

Wow I haven't posted on my blog since the end of December 2019! Who knew back in December that right now we would be in the middle of a world wide pandemic with "Covid-19". It's a pretty scary world out there right now. I hope that everyone is doing their best to "stay home to stay safe". I feel really bad for all of the people who have lost their jobs because of this pandemic. We are lucky that my husband is a truck driver so he is still able to work and I'm retired now so I have my retirement monies coming in. But there is so many families who don't have that luxury of having monies still coming into the household. It's the small business owners who have had to lay off their workers and may not be able to recover from this and have to close their businesses down that I feel really bad for, so we try to shop and support these businesses. I also hope that the people who can afford it will still be able to help by purchasing from crafters on-line like myself  who don't have the opportunity to go to craft markets that have been shut down because of this pandemic. I would just like to say a huge thank you to all of the nurses/doctors, and first responders who are putting their own health at risk to hep everyone else!

Luckily being a crafter I am able to keep myself occupied doing my scrapbooking/card making. I have also got into making t-shirts and mugs etc which I hope to get listed on my website www.scrappers-heaven.com soon and hope that you will check it out. For now I am just going to post the layouts that I have been making.
