Cool in the Pool

Finally getting to a few of my old photos that I've been wanting to scrap. This one is from 2001 of my granddaughter when she was about 1½ on one of the blowup water toys in our pool at our old house, she's now almost 20 (April 4th) so yeah this photo's old, lol. I can't tell with her face if she's happy or nervous on the orca, either way I just love the photo!

I used the Stamperia "Blue Land" paper collection for this layout. This paper collection can be used for a winter/snow layout, as I did on an earlier layout, to this summertime/pool layout. I went through all the papers and picked out the pieces I wanted for layering along with some tags. I distressed the background paper and all of the paper for the layers. I played around with the papers until I got the design I wanted and then started taping everything down. I took the photo and popped it up with some cardboard. I have this drawer in my craft room that is full of different colored Thickers letters. I had some blue ones that would have been a perfect color for this layout but....of course when I'm pulling out the letters I didn't have enough of them for my title! That's okay though I just painted them all white, which actually worked out because there is so much blue the white looked a lot better. I added my own handmade larger flowers then some white and navy blue rose buds. I added some white paint splatters and called it done. Here's the finished layout.
I'd love to hear your comments! TFL!

Aging

So I have this app on my phone called FaceApp, my grandson downloaded it for me. It will take a photo of you and age you backwards. So I had a selfie that I took on Christmas Eve and ran it through the app. Now if only in real life it was that easy! So since I'm always saying to my friends how shocked I am every morning when I look in the mirror and I wonder where that old person came from because I'm sure I'm only in my 40's, I decided I should do a layout with the young photo and the actual photo.

I used Prima's "Zella Teal" paper for this layout. I took some different sized pieces (which I distressed) of the papers and played around with them until I liked the design. I matted the photos with some light blue cardstock and added cardboard to the back of the photos to pop them up. I used the arrows from the ephemera pack to point from the label "What I think I still look like" to the app photo and then from the label "What I really look like" to the actual photo. I added some flowers that I fussy cut from the paper, along with some from the ephemera pack and flowers from my stash. I finished off the layout with some white and some black paint splatters. I'm quite happy at how the layout turned out. Here's the finished layout:

I'd love to hear your comments! Thanks for stopping by!

Four New Layouts

For my "Winter" layout I used Stamperia's "Blue Land" paper collection. I just love this paper collection, it's so pretty I almost hate to cut it apart, lol. I wanted to scrap a few photos of different snowfalls we had here in Campbell River (BC, Canada). The larger photo in the middle was taken in February of 2018. The two smaller photos were of a huge snowfall we had back in 2014. I made the flowers using  one of my Heartfelt flower dies. I was quite happy at how the layout turned out. Here's the finished layout:
For my next layout "Sea Breeze". I used Couture Creations "Sea Breeze" paper collection to scrap this photo of my son and grandson taken back in 2015 when they had gone fishing with my husband when they were up visiting. I did a lot of fussy cutting for the layout of the lighthouse, pelican and boat wheel and shells which I popped up with foam pop dots. I even added a few real shells into the fussy cut ones. Here's the finished layout.
I've had this photo of my grandson chopping up the fire wood we had picked up at the beach in the afternoon in my baskets of photos to scrap for quite awhile. I just didn't have the right papers. I wanted the layout to be fairly simple so when I got these papers from Carta Bella "Spring Market" collection I thought they'd work great for this layout. Here's the finished layout.
I've had this photo of myself with my son and grandchildren in my basket of photo's to scrap for awhile also. I used the Carta Bella "Spring Market" collection also. The photo was taken back in 2010 in my sisters backyard and she is quite the gardener, although you can't really see the gardens in the photo, to me the papers were perfect for the layout. Here's the finished layout.
I hope you like the layouts and I'd love to hear your comments.
