Graduation Time

Well it's that time of year again, all the teens are getting ready for their graduation from high school and embarking on the next leg of their journey. My friend has a niece graduating this month and asked if I could make her a card for her niece. I really like the nice straight lines that black and white papers can give you on a card so I thought they would be perfect for a grad card.

My card base was cut at 4¾" x 6¾" and for the first layer I used black card stock cut the same size. For my next layer I used a black & white patterned paper cut at 4½" x 6½". I used a piece of white paper that had some black swirls through it cut at 4¼" x 6¼". I just happened to find a package of black, white and silver flowers in my stash (that I found at a second hand store for 50¢ -score!). I took the flowers and layered them to make three flowers with some pretty centers which I used on the top right corner of the card. I then used one of my die cuts to cut the "Congrats" for the card then added the year. I printed out the head and cap silhouette, which I sell in my graduation digital scrap kit here: Graduation Digital Kit. I'm quite happy how it turned out, here's the finished card.

Birthday Card

I've come to the conclusion that I need to get a job working for Kaisercraft. I absolutely love all of their paper collections and can't wait for the next collection to be released. I made this card for my sister for her Birthday, it's a simple card but with these papers from Kaisercrafts "Fairy Garden" collection it's so pretty!

I've made the card at 4¾" x 6¾". For my first layer I used some pink card stock which I distressed. My next layer I used the "Wishes" paper from the collection cut at 4½" x 6½" which I also distressed. I then cut a piece of pink card stock cut at approximately 3½" x 6½" and I used one of my Martha Stewart punches on both sides of the 6½" side and centered it down the middle of the card. I then used the green side of the "Fluttering" paper from the collection and cut it about a half inch narrower and used the same punch on that piece and centered it over the pink card stock. I had the pretty picture of the roses that I found on the internet printed out as I thought it would be great to use on a card. As luck would have it it went perfectly with these papers. I matted it with a pale green card stock and a pink card stock and added that to the card as shown. I then  did some fussy cutting of the flowers from the "Magical" paper and popped them up with foam pop dots and added them to the two corners of the roses paper as shown. I printed out the sentiment on my computer and added that to the card and called it done. I was really happy at how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by and I'd love to hear your comments!

Father's Day

I've made another  Father's Day cards to share with you. This one is just a different take on one of my previous cards. Instead of adding gears to this card I just wrapped the card with some string on the left side. A very simple card but one that I think is perfect for this masculine day. TFL!

Father's Day cards

A few more Father's Day cards I made. This first one using Couture Creations "Sea Breeze" paper collection is 4¾"x6¾". I distressed and inked all of the papers and added some foam pop dots to the anchor and the shell. I also added a few junkyard findings from Prima.
I used the Couture Creations "Sea Breeze" paper collection again on this card which is 4¼"x5½". I did some fussy cutting of the lighthouse from the papers which I popped up with foam pop dots. I added a couple of die cut anchors to the card.
This next card is another 4¼"x5½" one. I ran the silver paper through one of my Cuttlebug embossing folders to give it that metal look. I used one of my stamps of a motorcycle and added a couple of small gears to the card.

New Cards

A quick post to show off a few new cards I've made. This first card I made using Kaisercraft's "Golden Grove" paper collection. This is the first time I've actually made an apology card. I figured this would be a good card for a man to have in his stash to use at appropriate time, lol.
This next card was made for Father's Day using Couture Creations "Sea Breeze" paper collection. Lots of layering and used some foam pop dots to pop up the "Sea Breeze" saying.
This Father's Day card was made using left over papers in my stash and Die-namites "Cattails" die.

 Thanks for stopping by!
